85 km of real-world electric range, a 1.2 kWh battery, solid build quality, and plenty of fun – one German rider shares his first three weeks with the F20 ULTRA HS.

When it comes to choosing a high-performance electric bike, real-world experience often tells you more than a list of specifications.

After three weeks of riding the F20 ULTRA HS, one of our German customers shared a detailed and honest review covering battery range, build quality, suspension, handling, braking performance, off-road riding and even the information provided by the display.

Rather than changing his words, we would like to share his original comments in German, together with an English summary for our international readers.

Real-World Electric Range

„So, mal Fazit nach den ersten 3 Wochen: Die Akkureichweite beträgt vollelektrisch (d. h. ohne kräftig mitzutreten, sondern den Gashahn aufzudrehen) echte 85 km. Das finde ich schon mal super. Akku hat gemessen 1,2 kWh Kapazität, das ist schon sehr ordentlich.“

After three weeks of riding, our customer reported achieving around 85 km of real-world range in pure electric mode, relying primarily on the throttle rather than significant pedaling. He also measured the battery capacity at approximately 1.2 kWh, which he found particularly impressive.

A real-world range of this level highlights the advantage of the F20 ULTRA HS's high-capacity battery system. In everyday riding, the actual range will naturally vary depending on factors such as riding speed, rider weight, road conditions, temperature, elevation and riding style. Riding at higher speeds or frequently using maximum power will generally result in higher energy consumption, while moderate speeds and smoother terrain can extend the range.

The F20 ULTRA HS uses an adjustable suspension setup that allows riders to adapt the bike to different riding conditions. The front suspension can be adjusted using a rotary dial without tools, while the rear shock absorber can be adjusted with tools.

One of the most distinctive comments in the review was the customer's description of the cornering experience.

The combination of wide tires, suspension and a stable frame platform gives the F20 ULTRA HS a planted feel when cornering. Wide tires can provide a larger contact patch with the road surface, while the suspension helps the bike maintain better contact with uneven terrain.

The customer also noted that the bike rolls surprisingly easily despite its wide tires:

„Der Rollwiderstand ist für die Reifenbreite verblüffend gering, das Teil rollt leicht und lange aus wie ein normales Fahrrad, ich hatte das ganz anders erwartet.“

This is an interesting observation because wider tires do not automatically mean significantly higher rolling resistance. Tire construction, pressure, tread design, surface conditions and wheel configuration all influence how easily a vehicle rolls.

For the customer, the result was a combination of stability and surprisingly easy rolling – something he had not expected before riding the bike.

What About Pedaling?

The customer also gave us some very honest feedback about using the F20 ULTRA HS as a conventional bicycle.

„Im reinen Fahrrad-Betrieb aber trotzdem nur sehr begrenzt brauchbar, die Sitzposition mit den angewinkelten Beinen ist zum kräftigen Treten nicht geeignet.“

He also pointed out that at higher speeds, the available gearing makes it difficult to maintain a comfortable pedaling cadence.

This feedback reflects the fundamental design philosophy of the F20 ULTRA HS. It is built around electric performance and higher-speed riding, rather than being designed primarily as a lightweight conventional bicycle for long-distance pedal-only riding.

At higher vehicle speeds, maintaining an efficient human pedaling cadence requires a sufficiently high gear ratio. Riders who prioritize pedal-driven riding may therefore have different expectations from those who primarily use the electric drive.

As the customer summarized it:

„Im Prinzip ist das ein elektrisches Moped mit Straßenzulassung.“

For his riding style, the F20 ULTRA HS therefore feels much closer to an electric moped-style vehicle than a traditional bicycle.

Hydraulic disc brakes are well suited to heavier, higher-performance electric bikes because they can provide strong and consistent braking force while offering good modulation at the brake lever.

For a vehicle capable of higher speeds, effective braking is an essential part of the overall riding experience. The customer's positive feedback suggests that the braking system has so far met his expectations in real-world use.

One Small Criticism: The Cockpit Could Offer More Information

The customer did not only share positive feedback. He also raised a constructive point about the information available on the display.

„Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt bislang: Das Cockpit bietet für Technik-Junkies leider nicht viel an zusätzlichen Infos.“

The current display provides essential riding information such as speed, total mileage, trip distance, maximum speed and average speed. However, the customer would like to see more technical data, including battery voltage, energy consumption, motor power and remaining battery capacity as a percentage.

His point is particularly interesting from a technical perspective. Modern electric drive systems continuously monitor various operating parameters, so displaying more of this information could provide technology-focused riders with a deeper understanding of how the bike is performing.

We appreciate this kind of detailed feedback because it goes beyond simply evaluating the bike as it is today and gives us ideas about what could make the riding experience even better in the future.
